忠信之道 Zhong xin zhi dao

忠信之道 Zhong xin zhi dao

Zhong xìn zhi dào
Engelse titel: The Way of Loyalty and Trustworthiness

Consisting of merely nine bamboo strips, and inscribed with 259 characters, the “Zhōng xìn zhī dào” is one of the shortest writings of the entire Guōdiàn One library.

Like most manuscripts which date from the Warring States period, the “Zhōng xìn zhī dào” is a piece of political philosophy. The treatise can be read as guidance in moral government. It is directly addressed to the sovereign of the state, who is referred to as a gentleman (jūnzi 君子) throughout (bron Meyer 2005)
